Jewellery Care

We all love Jewellery....

But seeing your favourite necklace tarnish or break is a bummer!

The solution? A little bit of TLC.

All of our necklace findings are made up from Sterling Silver. We've chosen Sterling Silver as it consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other alloys, such as copper, to make it more durable, as silver on its own is incredibly soft! With a high content of silver means tarnishing and dullness can happen, but don't fear you can bring back the lustre look

Sterling Silver Care.

Try to avoid getting your necklace in direct contact with any chemicals. That means taking your necklace off before you go applying your daily moisturiser! Perfumes aren’t very good for sterling silver either, so make sure you’re not wearing your necklace as you apply your favourite scent. All of your lotions and potions will have an effect on your jewellery.

If the Sterling Silver is looking a little worn...

The best way to combat tarnishing is to get into the habit of giving your jewellery a quick polish every now and again.  A clean cloth such as a duster is perfect.  If you need to wash your jewellery, use clean, warm water (don’t add detergent unless your jewellery is particularly dirty) and polish with a clean cloth once it’s dry.

Or you could use a small amount of silver polish on a soft cloth, gently rub the silver several times, rinse the silver thoroughly in warm water and then carefully dry.

Natural Thread Care

Our thread does not fray or stretch.

However...

It can easily tangle so we suggest hanging your necklaces up either on a jewellery tree or letting your necklace hang down somewhere (mine are hanging from my bedside lamp).

As all types of jewellery, our thread can break or tear. If this happens please purchase our repair service which you can find on our necklace page.
